-The mirror in the center of the flower and the pleasant colors, stimulate baby's sense of sight.
-Crinkly sounds develop hearing.
-The sense of touch is stimulated by the various fabrics that provide a wealth of sensations, and the hard and soft plastic and soft teether can be explored by hand or mouth.
-With baby using his hands, exploring and playing with the flower she develops not just her senses but the coordination between them as well.
Fine Motor Skills:
Baby Bloomer affords baby many opportunities for using her fingers:
-Crumpling the petals
-Grasping the stem and bending it in all directions.
-Playing with the crinkly cloth pocket.
-Grasping the teether with all her fingers and later on in a pincer grasp.
-These challenges encourage baby to work her various hand muscles and practice a range of different grasps.
Object Permanence:
Baby Bloomer allows baby to play peek-a-boo in a variety of ways:
-Bend the mirror back, so it cannot be seen, and then bend it towards her again.
-Hide the teether inside the pocket and find it again.
-These games contribute to baby's understanding that objects continue to exist even when she doesn't see them.
Cognition:
-Baby learns about the connection between her actions and their consequences by playing with the toy; bending the stem, pulling the mirror forwards and back, stretching the teether to produce attractive sounds. |
